How do you get long, soft spindel like curls?

I love Jessica Simpson's hair. Always! It always looks so cute, and nicely done. But of course, I don't have a stylist to help me out. It's pretty in to have long, sweep curls. And swoopy side bangs. But I have shoulder-length hair, and long bangs. But I see long hair with long layered bangs too. I was curious, how do you get these types of curls:

I see tons of styles fo curls, long waves, spindel curls, tight waves, kinks, whispy waves. The list goes on,and on on the differnt styles of curls and waves. But those two are my favorites. How do you accomplish that kind of spindel-like soft whispy curl? With what utensils\gel? Or no gel? Help!

Thanks!

If you have naturally curly hair, I have been told by one of my friends who is a hairdresser, that when you really want to glam it up, wash your hair, let it dry and then wet it again but this time only condition your hair. It will give you glossy, nice curls.

As she is sitting next to me, she also says they make great curling irons that work well. Just use products that react well with heat, the whole line up. Good Luck.
