How to style short hair?

I need to know how to style short hair. It's not completely short. It閳ユ獨 layered. The longest part is in the back about an inch or so below my shoulders. The shortest is in the front just a tiny bit lower then my ears. My hair is naturally wavy, but I liked to straighten it when my hair was long. My hair color is a very, very, VERY dark brown (have been told it閳ユ獨 black T_T;;;).

I'm also asian (1/4 thai and 3/4 lao) so i want to keep the asian flair in my hair. And I'm a devoted rocker and J-rock fan. So no girly girly stuff.My face shape is somewhere between round and square閳?I think. I'm also 13.(Are those relevant?)

I get compliments on my hair all the time, I'm 18 and have been styling my own hair for 10 years. The trick is hairspray extra hold, just spray your dry hair untill it is pretty much wet and mess it up with your hands, make it look really messy. The look is commonly refered to messy on purpose. Once you have your hair looking somewhat crazy style it down a knoch or keep it messy. Once it is dried a little just lightly coat your hair with another couple of sprays of the hair spray and your hair will turn heads! :P good luck

sounds like u have the same style hair as me! well, i think tigi bed head has a styling product to show layers for short hair, i cant remember wat its called tho, sry.

u can also shake ur hair for like 10 seconds and then spray hair spray in ur hair to show the layers. it works, trust me!

do u have a mullet?or a shag?any way it goes you need to lose the long length in the back. Then u can u can wrap your hair with a styling gel, dry it, and then run your fingers through it to style it. That would be so cute. Good luck!

Hi i also had that problem...and i am also asian. lol

but anyways, i found that for asian hair, once you cut it it slightly waves at the ends because of the cut, so what works for me is, towel dry it after you shower, put some product in it. I like to use mousse, and then part it to where you like, then blow dry it to the style you want. You can even buy one of those straightening brushes from like walmart or target so you dont have to use a flat iron. But if you dont want to spend the cash...a regular hair brush does just as fine. Once you start blow drying...make sure you aim the blow dryer down your hair rather than up so you dont get that electrocuted frizzy look...haha ...oh yeah...and to keep that asian smoothness and shininess a boar bristle brush helps....the hair brushes that dont have the plastic bristles...the other kind.haha...kk ...good luck..hope this helps

I think it sounds good down, you could part it differently. And I think like side bangs are rather rocker too. Yeah...mine is horribly short(trying to find my own style). Highlights are also fun, from your color, I think red highlights would be awesome. And since it`s shorter, smaller pigtails that stick out, I think are a cute style. Good luck!
